A range of live music throughout the year
We have a range of concerts throughout the year from folk to piano trio, jazz to opera. This page brings you information on our regular Paradis Palm Court Trio concerts as well as the latest news on the range of unique one-off concerts that are announced throughout the year. All our concerts are in the grand Assembly Room at Midsomer Town Hall, unless otherwise stated!
First Thursday Afternoon Social
@ Welton Rovers Football Club
Since its launch the monthly First Thursday at Welton Rovers FC has developed into a popular event in the social calendar. Local entertainers provides a blend of musical entertainment, laughter and even a bit of bingo with hot and cold refreshments available from the bar. The Social is the perfect chance to have a laugh, make new friends and dance or foot tap the afternoon away!
It’s great to see so many people coming out and enjoying live music in the Town and new faces always receive a warm welcome. So if you’re at a loose end on Thursday at 2pm, why not come on down to Welton Rovers?

Trio Paradis Lunchtime Concert
First Friday of every month
Paradis Palm Court Trio (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano, Lisa Betteridge – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) play a lunch-hour concert, 12.30-1.30pm on the first Friday of each month. These concerts are normally held in the Assembly Room at Midsomer Norton Town Hall, but will be held in St John’s Church for the rest of this year, due to the Transformation Works. Each concert is themed and comprises pieces of music in a wide range of styles. Rosemary’s delicious home-made cakes are on sale, along with tea & coffee.
These concerts are supported by grants from Midsomer Norton Town Council which enables us to offer them free of charge. Donations are vital to keep the series going, so please give generously.

Why a Live Music programme?
We aim to provide an affordable and accessible entertainment venue for the local community. This has particular benefits for those who cannot afford or physically travel to cities such as Bristol or Bath. Any profits raised from our live music programme go back into the community.
Through our concerts, we aim to give a platform for local musicians to showcase their artistic talents, whilst also offering the community opportunities to watch performances that would normally be out of reach.
Our live music programmer has helped create a great community spirit by creating a great local day or night out that people can walk to. This in turn benefits the High Street by bringing people into the town centre. It has also provided volunteering opportunities to and work experience in the community including members of Swallow and Duke of Edinburgh students from the local schools.
