The Assembly Room

The Assembly Room is the largest room in the Town Hall and the premier venue in the town. Whatever the function this space gives a spacious and inviting feel to the occasion. Offering a versatile space it regularly hosts a whole range of events and activities including:

  • Community groups
  • Drop-in youth cafés
  • Live drama & music
  • Public meetings & consultations
  • Training courses
  • The Somer Valley’s most successful Community Cinema

The Assembly Room seats 120 ‘theatre style’sprung dance floor with excellent acoustic. It also benefits from a Bechstein Grand Piano.

The hall has an adjacent kitchen with serving hatch.

There is both stair and lift access so that the whole community can benefit from this wonderful asset.

Being at the heart of the town there is plenty of free parking nearby.

We also have a range of crockery,  furniture and audio visual equipment available including a full size cinema screen and adjustable blinds – please ask for details.
